Driver Update! New days, New Beginnings

Driver has truly lived up to his name. Every day he shows more and more improvement. We couldn't be happier. His hair has almost fully grown back. What is simply amazing is that he doesn't let his past, represent his future. He has let it go. He has move forward. He loves and trusts without prejudice. We can all learn something from him. As much pain as he was in, he was such a good boy on our ride over. You can see his amazing spirit in his eyes.

You can see how happy Driver is in his new home. His burns are healing so nicely and he loves his new canine brothers.

"Bobby" The Injured Feral

One week ago, we got a call from CatVanDo regarding a call they received from someone who lives in our area regarding an injured feral who needed help. Whiskers & Tails Rescue Foundation jumped right in to help. We went out to the location to assess the situation and the cats' injuries. We discovered that this feral was TNR'd 2 years ago by someone else. WTRF and CatVanDo worked diligently together to devise a plan, set up transport, recruit the neighbor's help and get the medical care this community cat needed and deserved. We are happy to say what a wonderful collaboration this was. Bobby is now being treated and we expect him to make a full recovery. A big thanks to everyone involved, another wonderful happy ending. Driver has found a home!!

We are happy to announce that Driver has found his Forever Home! Some of you may  have heard of the story about the cat in Chicago who was burned with boiling water. Well that is Driver.  Here's the story...
The Founder/President of Whiskers & Tails Rescue Foundation saw a video of a cat being scolded with boiling hot water that was posted online on the Social Media website Facebook. Upon seeing the video, she quickly called her bestfriend and Vice President of WTRF to ask if she would go with her to rescue this cat. The scolding happened 3 days prior and no efforts had been attempted to find or rescue this cat. Death was knocking at this cat's door. With determination and belief in her heart, she knew she would rescue him. She did. Before rescuing the cat, she had called Felines & Canines to ask when she found this cat, would they admit him/her? They said yes. There was no question of if, it was a question of when. Upon his rescue and seeing all the burns he sustained, he was given the name Driver. He had The Drive to Live, The Drive To Love, The Drive To Trust, The Drive To Forgive.

Each person involved in the rescue of Driver played an important role. From the rescue, to the transport, to the admittance to a care facility. One couldn't have happened without the other. Together we made Driver's ending a happy one.

Whiskers & Tails Rescue Foundation will continue their efforts every day to get adoptable stray cats off the streets and into loving homes and to better the lives of ferals.
